Restrictions apply 1st May to 30th September – No dogs are allowed on the beach near the main entrance but you don’t have to walk too far north or south of the beach entrance to find a place to walk your dog, as the restriction is quite narrow compared to most of the beaches in Norfolk. On the promenade dogs must be kept on a lead.
Outside of the summer season months, there are no restrictions for what part of the beach dogs can walk on.

a month agoBeautiful beach anytime of the year. If it’s low tide you can explore the prehistoric chalk reef, but take care! A walk along the beach is always fun, trying to find any fossils in the fallen stones from the cliff. The car park is very reasonably priced and there’s a café with displays and information boards. There are also little kiosks where local wares are being sold

4 months agoBeautiful beach. Spent a lovely afternoon paddling and walking along. Beware it is stoney in places, you cant walk through the big rock pools, there are massive stones you cant see. I would advise water shoes. A lovely view of Cromer pier. There is a slope down from the car park, the carpark is privately owned and is called Seaview carpark. £4. Please go and check out the reviews on google for it prior to parking there ... judging by the owners responses to reviews, it would appear there is a "customer is always wrong" attitude unless you give 5 stars, and they have also belittled some of the reviewers.

2 months agoLovely walk along the beach or the cliff top to either Sheringham or into Cromer, takes and hour or so at a reasonable pace but you may stop to take pictures 📸

a year agoThe reason for our visit was a sunset swim for the grandchildren. West Runton didn't disappoint. For sunsets I suggest the north coast of Norfolk, unless you want to travel out to Hunstanton. The view to Cromer pier is amazing and the crumbling cliffs a reminder of the always present coastal erosion. The car park closes at 21:00 so be careful you don't get locked in. In the summer there is a small stretch of beach where dogs are not allowed, but it is a short walk to the best sand for your dogs off their leads.
