The White Swan has stood on the village green since the 1600’s and is in the final stages of a complete refurbishment. Being closed since 2018, the community was disheartened to learn that their local pub would be closing.
In early 2021, the community came together to get The White Swan reopened, involving the whole village. They have worked together to purchase, rebuild and bring The White Swan back to life. Reopening in May 2022, we want to bring you the best. Our drinks poured with perfection, our menu made unique, seasonal and made with passion. Everything sourced locally. We’re proud to serve you local goodness.

a month agoAt last we've found a pub that's open on a Monday for drink and even better, for food! We saw some whale and chips being delivered to tables around us but had the breads in oil starter-incredible.. Then the pork and venison sausage main with colcannon mash potatoes and greens- simply the best sausage and mash ever. We were stuffed by this point but couldn't leave without trying the cheese and biscuits, which was plenty for 2. Lovely lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff too! Top marks for a Monday guys for keeping a lovely dark ale too! Perrrrrrfect

2 months agoJust had lunch at the White swan in Gressenhall. This was place is a winner winner chicken dinner. So satisfying to find a place that really goes the distance to make a great community feel, and the food was delicious that even after being full from my own I picked the bits off my mums favourite plate when she finished. Thank you and see you soon ❤️✨

a year agoFamily invited us over to this lovely community pub- and we were all impressed! Quaint characterful - yet modern, it was sympathetically renovated . The White Swan's been in Gressenhall for over 500 years but in 2019 to save its future as the last remaining pub in the village it was purchased by the community. Over 6000 hours of volunteer work has created a beautiful village pub. Food is fresh and local. We had a buffet of mini fish, chicken and bowls of chips: was very nice, not greasy, was hot, moist, crispy and tasty. Generous portions. Bowls olives and cheese yum! I've been informed there was a good range of beers, many regional. Orchard Pig cider on tap (not local!) was pleasantly bubbly- medium dry/sweet, 4.3% Suitable for vegans and gluten free. Lovely community pub supporting local community with friendly staff. Fab place we'd go again.

9 months agoMy partner and I had an early valentine's day meal booked for the white swan, and we were not disappointed. Most of the food was absolutely brilliant, and I really appreciate the use of local ingredients and game meat used in the game terrine and venison sausages! My only complaint was that the broccoli and blue cheese soup was more like water than a soup, which was a shame. Dessert option were fantastic, and our cheesecake and crumble were out of this world We would love to return! 4/5****
