2 weeks agoWas very fortunate to be treated to a birthday meal here - what a fabulous place. Service is top notch and very friendly and welcoming. We were dining with our dogs so seated in the bar area and cannot comment on the restaurant or the rooms but we would definitely consider staying here in future. There's a real focus on local produce and of course the sea. The food did not disappoint. The Staithe smokehouse salmon was superb. Both my husband and I's mains were delicious. I also had the best lemon tart (outside of my kitchen ) I've ever eaten plus the team gave me an extra birthday treat too ❤️ we can't wait to return

3 weeks agoOutstanding restaurant with stunning views. The menu is one of those where you can't go wrong as every dish is just exquisite, and the showcase option in my view is the seafood platter to share. Great selection of quality beers is backed up by outstanding service also. Easy parking on site and there are also some superb walks nearby with great views. This is a superb restaurant and for seafood fans it's a must visit. Highly recommended.

a week agoAfter the white horse being recommended to us we decided to try it. Very disappointed with the food. We ordered fish & chips, being a posh pub by the sea we thought it would be lovely, how very wrong. There was very little fish underneath a huge layer of batter & the chips (cheep ones out of a freezer, confirmed by the waiter) were so overcooked, crispy & dry were inedible. Very disappointed. Lovely pub, lovely wine. Very slow service. Not very busy but still took an hour to get our food. Sat by the conservatory window with my coat on as it was very drafty

3 months agoDidn’t stay here but had a fabulous lunch. The produce is all top quality and imaginative in presentation. I had an amazing pigeon starter, with blue cheese, shallots and jus. Followed by halibut and king oyster mushroom. Sublime. Service is attentive and happy! Would definitely recommend. Amazing views out to the marshlands at the rear of the property.
