5 months agoPerfect spot for a Guinness and if you get the chance the food and upstairs restaurant is absolutely brilliant. So lucky to have this spot in Norwich, really unassuming and thoughtful dining experience. We could have ordered the full menu and everything we ate was 10/10 - especially the sharing rib of beef which just melted in the mouth. And could have eaten a bucket full of haggis scotch eggs! Service and wine list was spot on, can’t wait to go back.

8 months agoWe visited this lovely pub on our recent trip to Norwich and had a lovely evening. Great beers on tap and in cans, and an interesting wine selection. We ate bar snacks and they really were excellent, very well rounded and full of flavour. Pork croquettes were sublime and the bread selection was excellent. A lovely scoop of ice cream finished off the evening very nicely. Being dog friendly is a huge win too 😊

9 months agoOne of the best places to eat in Norwich. Delicious and delivers on flavour in more ways than one. It’s unique, and the open kitchen upstairs sets the right vibe, and the decor and layout is perfect. Couldn’t fault the cooking at all. From start to finish. Perfect

3 months agoWow. Wow. Wow. Wanted to come last year for a Sunday but had to cancel. This time we made it and deserves every plaudit. Fantastic. The downstairs actually has heating that works and is on! Brilliant as was pretty damn cold today. Nice ales on. Upstairs for lunch. The smell was amazing. The taste was amazing. Beef for me. Chicken for Wife. Nice spring veg. Congratulations chefs. That's first rate. Service good. Even had a dessert. Ginger ice cream. Bread butter hot cross bun pudding. Extra Marmalade ice cream. Beautiful. Plus good tunes in vinyl. It's the little things sometimes. 🤔🙏 Will return for sure. Maybe pie night.

4 weeks agoI heard a lot of hype about this place but I was a little disappointed. The vegetarian selection isn't great - one option for starter and main - so I had no choice but to get the pasta which was under seasoned and bland (but fresh, which I appreciated). My partner enjoyed their fish so perhaps this is just a place for meat eaters. Good dessert, nice wine and decent service, but they really need to up their vegetarian offerings.
