6 months agoCame up from London for The Steam Packet’s first Vegetarian Supper - absolutely incredible. As a vegan myself, it was the most delicately crafted dishes I’ve ever eaten. Explosions in my mouth - unreal. Other than the food, the atmosphere of the restaurant was just perfect, with one of my favourite records playing as we were seated, The The’s Soul Mining. Thank you.

2 months agoOne of the best eating experiences of my life! The setting is fantastic - casual and cosy, and the staff are great. The food was phenomenal, especially the chicken, ham and leek pie. Might have brought a lil tear to my eye (though I'd had some equally fantastic wine).

4 months agoWe came here for some pre drinks before heading to another pub for a party. However, we were loving the steam packet so much we told the rest of the party to change the venue to here. Great beer and great staff.

a month agoSteam Packet's food is some of the best in Norwich. No burger pub grub stuff but a Cassoulet that whisks you back to the Languedoc. Delicious. Lovely array of first courses, plus Hogget with great tenderness and flavour. Excellent service. Will go again soon. Bravo to the kichen team

10 months agoOne of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. The Steam Packet nails that rare balance between cosy and elevated. The pub’s atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a dining room that feels intimate but never cramped – the art and overall vibe are spot on. The open kitchen adds to the charm, giving you a glimpse into the action. The food? Outrageously good. We had the langoustines with wild garlic – unforgettable – followed by a perfectly cooked steak and some of the best chips I’ve had in ages. Their home lager was crisp and refreshing, honestly one of the best I’ve tried in a long time, and the wine list is equally impressive. What really sets this place apart is the portion size and the cooking style: generous, honest plates that are simple in the best way – full of flavour, creativity, and care. The Steam Packet is absolutely worth a visit
