The Shoulder of Mutton is a dog, horse and steam engine-friendly pub in the heart of Strumpshaw, just a few miles from Norwich & a bit further from Great Yarmouth.
Pop in and enjoy the comfortable atmosphere of a traditional pub. Choose from a wide selection of beers, wines, and spirits, and sample our freshly prepared food. The Specials menu varies throughout the year as our experienced chefs makes the most of seasonal ingredients. We pride ourselves on stocking many locally produced Ales, Cider & Gin. At anyone time we have up to 6 real ales on.
Dogs are welcome in all parts of the pub except the Dining Room. The pub does get busy with dogs so if your dog is reactive or nervous you will have to take this into consideration when visiting. Table 9 is a great table for our doggy customers who may want to be in a quiet area. You would need to book this as it is very popular.
We have lots of outdoor seating at the front of the pub & back. There are two covered areas in the back that over look the Petanque court and lots of benches to the front.
The Shoulder of Mutton is is perfectly placed for dog walks. With lots of trails & walks in the surrounding countryside.
As per all listings on Dog Friendly Norfolk, we accept well behaved dogs.

11 months agoOne of the best places to eat that I've been in a long time. The food was fantastic with a wide choice of specials, there was a nice range of beers on tap, good music and a very traditional pub feel about it. Would definitely recommended.

3 months agoWe turned up with a group of 6 not having booked. It was very busy (good to see!) but the member of staff who served us (Clare) was extremely helpful and accommodating and found us a table. The food was great, with an excellent choice. A friendly, traditional pub with good atmosphere. Thank you!
