Set overlooking the golden sands of Mundesley Beach on the North Norfolk coast, The Ship Inn is the perfect destination for eating, drinking and relaxing. Dating back 300 years, it is perhaps the oldest pub on the Norfolk coast. Using only the finest, freshest ingredients from independent local suppliers, our kitchen brigade create dishes with skill and experience. We have a giant beachside garden where food and drink can be enjoyed while you watch the waves crash and the sun set.
When you bring your four legged friend to our pub we also offer a dog menu, filled with treats.

a week agoHad a perfect two night stay celebrating my wife's 30th Birthday, from 24/10-26/10. "Dog friendly" is a poor description for what is quite frankly a "Dog first" hotel and restaurant! The whole place was accepting of dogs and it was just brill to relax somewhere with our furry friend. The staff were impeccable and so very helpful with getting birthday banners to make the celebrations for my wife extra special. The food was incredible, and the service was prompt. A lovely breakfast each morning set us up for the day and the doggy sausage and doggy goody bag in the room was just a great touch. Have recommended it to so many already, really wonderful stay!!

2 weeks agoI had the pleasure staying with you for one night this week with my two Labs. I just want to reach out to say how fantastic the experience was. We were lucky enough to be put in Room 6, I'm not sure I booked this!, but I was blown away with the room, the décor, the view, the dog goody bag, the bathroom, everything. I ate in the restaurant downstairs and the ribs were amazing. Breakfast too was also great, perfectly cooked. All the staff I dealt with were lovely. We loved our stay and I hope to be back very soon. Thank you for an amazing stay.

2 weeks agoWe stayed a couple of nights with a midweek offer they had, Sunday - Tuesday, starting off with an excellent Sunday roast. The staff are really lovely and friendly and the room we had was one of their 'cosy' rooms, very clean and comfortable. We were above the kitchens and near the extractor fan which was a bit noisy, but would switch off at 9:30pm. Overall though we had a very comfortable stay and the food here is excellent with a nice choice of beers. The location is excellent for touring around this beautiful part of Norfolk.

3 months agoWe had an excellent 2 night stay at the Ship Inn. Room 6 was large, comfortable and had a sea view. It was lovely to drop off to sleep to the sound of the waves on the beach. The pub serves very good food with a menu that covers all tastes. Vegetarians and vegans are well catered for. The fish and chips were delicious. We recommend booking a table in the restaurant during summer season as the pub gets very busy. Despite the pub being very busy, the staff were friendly, efficient and good humoured. They were all a real asset. We are happy to recommend the Ship Inn for a stay or a meal.

a month agoAfter reading some of the previous reviews we were a little sceptical about visiting, but after visiting and having a great time with our dogs, all I can think is some people will never be satisfied! Our room was excellent with a lovely welcome pack for our dogs, evening meal was exceptional and reasonably priced. Breakfast was to die for. All the staff were particularly pleasant and helpful and the whole place was very dog friendly. It is ideally situated right on the beach. We will definitely be coming back.
