Set overlooking the golden sands of Mundesley Beach on the North Norfolk coast, The Ship Inn is the perfect destination for eating, drinking and relaxing. Dating back 300 years, it is perhaps the oldest pub on the Norfolk coast. Using only the finest, freshest ingredients from independent local suppliers, our kitchen brigade create dishes with skill and experience. We have a giant beachside garden where food and drink can be enjoyed while you watch the waves crash and the sun set.

When you bring your four legged friend to our pub we also offer a dog menu, filled with treats.

We visited this pub after a high recommendation from good friends due to location & attached take away chippy, very unusual! The staff are really friendly, delightful Woodfordes beers, & we chose to eat in the pub & were well pleased with both starters (Southern fried chicken strips with a delicious sauce) & our main course fish & chips with peas, very tasty. There is some terrific views from the outdoor areas both the large garden & the sea & beach view outdoor little cabins. This is one amazing pub all round (& we didn't experience the sea view restaurant!) give it a try soon, you'll not regret it one iota 🍺🍸🍷👌👌

We booked a table in the restaurant for an evening meal. I have to say it was absolutely fantastic. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. It was very reasonably priced too. We will definitely be back again. My Husband even complimented the chef.

We booked a last minute overnight stay here as a trial one with our two dogs for a little early birthday treat. Well we were not disappointed. A brilliant location right next to the beach access. We had Sunday dinner on arrival and the food was delicious and plentiful. We had a king size room and were really pleased with the vast size of the room which also had a large bathroom. The room came with great wardrobe space plus plenty of additional storage at the bedside. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits are all complimentary in the room as well as bottled water. The staff were all super friendly and helpful and great with our dogs. We will definitely be returning.

Lovely couple of nights stay. Fabulous location and we had a great sea view from our room. Both dinners and breakfasts were really nice with a good choice on the menus. Our room was very hot which made for slightly uncomfortable nights, the staff are aware of this but it’s hard to see what they could do to rectify this (hot water pipes running beneath the floorboards) Also, if you don’t like dogs do not eat in the bar area. I can tolerate a well behaved dog however why some owners think it is ok to allow their dog to jump up, paw and sniff at other diners is beyond me. Not the hotel’s fault of course but I feel it does need a mention.

Our visit to have lunch was a delightful experience overall. The location is charming, and we were promptly seated by the window upon arrival. The waitress kindly brought us chilled bottle of tap water, which was a thoughtful gesture. We all opted for baguettes, and they were scrumptious with generous fillings. Each baguette was accompanied by crisps, coleslaw, and salad. However, the salads were a bit inconsistent; one lacked cucumber and the other lacked tomatoes, but we managed by sharing around. The only downside was the extra chips we ordered. They were not very fresh - they were lukewarm and slightly tough. At £4 per portion, they were overpriced for the quality. Nevertheless, the service was good, and we enjoyed our time at The Ship Inn. With a slight improvement in the chip quality, this would be a perfect spot for a meal in Mundesley.
