Set overlooking the golden sands of Mundesley Beach on the North Norfolk coast, The Ship Inn is the perfect destination for eating, drinking and relaxing. Dating back 300 years, it is perhaps the oldest pub on the Norfolk coast. Using only the finest, freshest ingredients from independent local suppliers, our kitchen brigade create dishes with skill and experience. We have a giant beachside garden where food and drink can be enjoyed while you watch the waves crash and the sun set.
When you bring your four legged friend to our pub we also offer a dog menu, filled with treats.

2 weeks agoEat in the restaurant for Mothers Day there was 12 of us in the party we pre ordered and the only fault was a couple of the soups were only lukewarm, but they were happy to take back and re heat. We ordered a 3 course meal but with the size of the portions two would have sufficed! Reasonable prices; spent about £45 per person but this was without much alcohol.

2 months agoStayed here in late december shortly after Christmas and had two rooms for a family of 4 which were excellent, bathroom and beds were super. Amazing view out to sea and location is great as it’s a flight of stairs from the seafront. Quiet and comfortable. Ate dinner in the restaurant which was fantastic too. Best Fish and Chips ever :) 5-10 min walk to village and Tesco Express nearby if necessary We will definitely return (maybe when it’s a bit warmer ;))

in the last weekWe spent a lovely night at the Ship Inn in the middle of March after my wife was given a voucher for her birthday. It did not disappoint that's for sure. We were warmly greeted at the check in by a member of staff who directed us to our room for the night. We stayed in Room #1. The room had a great view of the sea in which you could sit and watch the world go by in the comfy seats. It had knick knacks all around the room themed on old cigarettes and nautical. Which was eclectic but fun. The bed was comfortable and the facilities included tea, coffee, biscuits, and water. Along with a hair dryer, iron, and ironing board. Also, it has to be said that the bathroom was amazing with a great drench shower to use I did not want to get out. We opted for food at the restaurant and again that didn't disappoint either. My wife went for whitebate as a starter which was lovely and cost £8.95. I opted for mozerella sticks and chilli sauce. Again that was very nice and £8.95 too. My wife then decided to go for large cod and chips which are cooked at The Catch chip shop next door and were HUGE! So much so she couldn't finish it all. That was £15.95 and well worth it. I decided to go for Cumberland sausage and scallion mash with seasonal vegetables and onion gravy. This was £13.95 for a large portion and was delicious. We both decided that we were just too full for a dessert and retired to our room. Breakfast was served between 9 & 10 am and was delicious as well. The coffee was the best I've had for a long time and I do know it was a member of the staff's own recipe. The staff were lovely! Very friendly and chatty and seemed to enjoy their job which is always a good sign. So, a big thank you to them for making us feel welcome. I would definitely recommend staying at The Ship Inn. Look out for special deals early in the year as well.

a month agoRestaurant fully booked, but the bar is roomy and comfortable. Might have been Sunday but we went for fish and chips. Couldn't be faulted but the Sunday roasts that came out, had us wondering if we made the right decision.

5 months agoLovely dog and people friendly venue. Didn't stay at the hotel, but used the bar a couple of times and the restaurant once for dinner during short stay in Mundesley for October half term. 4 older adults, 16 year old and 3 dogs! Fabulous bar with well kept ales and good selection of other drinks. Food in restaurant was amazing and huge portions! Between us we had burgers, scampi and fish - faultless. Great service- would definitely recommend.
