The Red Lion – Cromer

We loved our stay here and the hotel is certainly deserving of the reviews and rating. The hotel is in a prime location, right on the seafront. There is a very small car park out back for hotel patrons. Unfortunately due to being a rather old building, there is no lift, but I was made aware of this when booking and chose to stay regardless. When we arrived at the hotel staff were quick to help with getting luggage upstairs when they spotted my mobility aid. The room was spacious and spotless with a sweet welcome note and fresh cookies. There were all the usual things, teas and coffees, but lovely little extras that make all the difference, like a pack of playing cards to take home. The room had a hair dryer, a large oscillating fan, slippers and gowns in the wardrobe. The en suite was large and very clean. We opted to have dinner at the hotel. The menu is quite concise and there is just the one vegan option-banana blossom fish and chips-but what an option it is! Absolutely exquisite and a huge portion which I couldn't finish. Definitely give this dish a try, i am sure it won't disappoint. Cocktails were also delicious. Breakfast was included in our booking and was also really tasty and fresh. Pastries, coffee, a fresh fruit smoothie and a vegan cooked breakfast. I would love to stay again!

Beautiful room and view. The staff provided excellent, friendly service. Lovely food with a top breakfast menu that caters for vegetarians too. Highly recommend. We enjoyed every minute of our visit and would definitely stay again! Thank you ❤️🦁

Visiting Cromer and stopped off at The Red Lion for lunch. A lovely selection of Bar foods or Restaurant which ever you choose. I chose Bar food and it was excellent and lots of it. I also had a pot of tea and pastry all lovely and presented well. Staff are friendly and helpful. Children are welcome and as I was on my mobility scooter access is around the back of The Red Lion plenty of room for mobility aids and disabled toilet facilities everyone is catered for. Even dog lovers are welcome with an area in the garden for dogs and owners to enjoy a drink and food in a large log cabin or sitting in the garden. It was just lovely.

Excellent selection of ales and other drinks which you can enjoy with coastal views. During a weekend in Cromer, we popped in several times for drinks and on Sunday for the veggie roast, which was very filling and delicious. Food was on the pricier side for a pub but it was very tasty and well presented. Our veggie roast came with a large Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese and plenty of thick gravy. We'll definitely come back next time we're in Cromer.

We had a lovely weekend stay here, rooms are great value for money and the included breakfast is exceptional. The evening meal was also very nice, spoiled by staff wanting us to vacate the table at 10.15 so they could lay up for breakfast. It made no difference that we were residents. That said we would definitely stay again.
