Dogs in Specific outside areas only: This is a great venue but dogs are only allowed in the two outdoor seating areas.
Get away from it all for a while, and unwind in a peaceful and tranquil setting surrounded by the sights and sounds of the Norfolk countryside.
The Painted Barn is set in a beautifully restored 16th century barn, with it’s original glorious beams. The adjacent studio benefits from views across the gentle rolling countryside.
We are earning a reputation for our food here at The Painted Barn. Our lunch dishes, prepared with the highest quality locally sourced produce, including from our own family farm, are interesting, delicious and, as we are always trying new ideas, so our menu changes continually.

a year agoWe had tea and cake at the PB it was delicious. They serve glass tea pots with tea leaves which was different. I have black tea with a piece of date/pistachio/chocolate slice and it was so tasty. My wife had peppermint tea. This cafe is charming the barn has been renovated to a high standard it’s very comfortable. There is a shop in the cafe selling home stuff. Highly recommend a visit but suggest you book first I would go again but would like to try lunch.

3 weeks agoLove it here and it is so relaxing, always visit with my girlfriend. Most quality tasting coffee I've ever had and all the food is fresh & delicious. Clearly talented staff. Been a few times and the staff always remember us. Absolutely recommend it if you come to Norfolk for anything, this place is a must. Try and book a table to avoid disappointment as it is popular!

2 years agoThank you Nick for a wonderful final lunch in the U.K. We couldn’t have been more happy to discover your hidden gem in the middle of Norfolk. The food was excellent and your good, fun nature added to the occasion. We will be back!

3 years agoWe have visited twice now and on both occasions everything has been just prefect. This is a wonderful conversion of an old barn. Lots of the old beams and brickwork on show. Half the barn is given over to home accessories and small furniture pieces. The other half is the cafe. The staff are all so friendly. The coffee is so good - they really know how to brew a proper coffee! There's also a lovely selection of loose leaf teas. We have tried the homemade pork and cider sausage roll, the cheese scone, and the local made Brays pork pies. All delicious. There is also a small offering of light lunch dishes. But then there are the cakes - all homemade and all delicious We tried the coffee and walnut and raspberry and apple gluten free. If you are passing by, you must turn down the drive for a visit. You won't be disappointed!
