The Malt and Mardle is Norwich’s first ever micropub. Although just 334 Sq Ft in size, we have lots of delicious drinks available, including real ale, craft beer, cider, wine, local spirits, softs and snacks. We pride ourselves on providing a welcoming, cosy space for you (and your furry companions!).

a month agoIt's biggest strength is probably it's biggest weakness. We visited during a VERY busy time during an ale trail and it was rammed. It prides itself on being a microbrewery, which counted against it during my visit as they were having to turn people away, and when we were able to get a seat the mardle bit (general chat) was lost as there were so many raised voices and we could hardly hear one another. The 2 servers on duty were polite and efficient and there was a good variety of drinks for such a small location. I imagine that in less busy times it would be a great little pub to visit and I certainly wouldn't rule out popping in again.

a year agoGreat micro pub, very good service and tasters before buying. Great concept of beer storage and dispensing.

6 months agoCosy and welcoming little bar with lovely decor 💖 The owners & staff have always been super friendly. I was pleased to see they also have some low-alcohol beers and vegan sausage rolls (which I'll have to try next time) on offer. Bonus points for having a small handful of boardgames available for visitors.

2 years agoFriendly staff, New beers every week, the perfect place for a cosy pint and a chat with friends! As a keen pubber I have to say this is probably my favourite spot for a quiet drink. Also their chorizo sausage rolls are unbelievable!

2 years agoWhen the barrel is outside, the beer (or cider) is flowing! Superb micro pub, other pubs now just don't cut the mustard. The well curated beer selection never disappoints. Definitely one to visit, cheers!
