A historic pub nestled in the heart of Norwich market with rooms that overlook our fine city. The historical Garnet pub (formerly known as The Garnet Woolsey) is a warm and welcoming drinking spot for both locals and tourist alike. We serve a huge range of wines, award winning beers, as well as local ales and spirits. Proudly nestled beside our vibrant Norwich Market (over 900 years old!) we welcome you to bring your own food from one of the many wonderful stalls… as well as your dog!

We have dog bowls behind the bar or at the entrance for those thirsty hounds as well as treats for especially good boys. We are proud to have the Garnet Stores & Supplies next door (also dog-friendly) which offers functional homewares, locally sourced gifts and coffee to refuel as you stock up.

As per all listings on Dog Friendly Norfolk, we accept well behaved dogs.

A good real ale pub in a splendid situation perched next to the market. I have sat outside, which is my preference, but when we came yesterday it was dull and a bit damp, so we took seats inside, overlooking the market square. The beers were good and I can recommend this pub to visitors.

A few years ago, I used to love in the flats next to the Garnet and belive me when I say that this place has significantly IMPROVED since then. The management has brought in an absolute stack of upgrades and runs a tight and tidy ship. Families rub shoulders with trendy hipsters and people popping in for a pint. The madly sloped garden hosts a bunch of tables where whole gaggle of friends hang out and vape and enjoy the eclectic music selection flowing dreamily from the outside speakers. This is the oasis of Norwich city. Stop in and refresh yourself!

A great pub in a nice location, really good Pizza restaurant next door and they allow you to eat them in the pub, beer selection is awesome and they cater for non beer drinkers well. Once outside the bar area the pub has an older layout inside so has lots of nice books where 2 or 3 people can get together. The downstairs bar part is a bit more modern so you can pick and choose your ambience. Looks amazing from the outside on a cold night, almost has a Harry Potter vibe!

Considering the Garnet is slap bang in the middle of town overlooking the market it's actually a really nice pub. A gorgeous higgledy-piggledy old building, a few seats outside, a fairly standard selection of drinks, generally friendly bar staff, and they let you order in pizza from brick next door. Not a "destination pub" by any means (unless you are hiring the very cool, oldey-worldey, private room up on the top floor), but a perfect place for a quick city centre pint before dinner.

Not sure what to say. An unusual building that seems to have several floors with not much on them. Nice bar downstairs and very city centre based. A couple tables outside but not a beer garden more just seats outside. Nice decor. Bit pricey but city centre. Pretty much in the market.
