We ask that dogs are kept on leads at all times, please can your pooches be kept off the sofas and beds. We also ask that while we are most defiantly dog friendly, please be respectful of other diners and pooches should be well behaved.
We have a black Labrador Doris who you might see roaming around the pub, most of our team are also dog owners so please do ask them for their favourite walk with their pooch.
We have a Doris dog board , which have pictures of dogs that come into the pub , please ask a member of staff if you would like a picture taken so you can be added to the board ! When you bring your four legged friend to our pub we also offer a dog menu, filled with treats.
If you are staying with us four of our rooms are dog friendly and we offer a bed, bowl and complimentary biscuit on arrival.
As per all listings on Dog Friendly Norfolk, we accept well behaved dogs.

a week agoLovely village and great looking pub and restaurant. We both had a Sunday roast and sat in the garden. Spare tables outside, as the restaurant/inside looked packed. Food was good, lovely outdoor barn area with seating and a separate bar. This place served until 8pm unlike many other places we visit, so if you are like us and want to eat a Sunday Dinner later this place is perfect.

a week agoAte some food here. Typical pub food. To get an idea of price = £40 for a burger and chips, scampi and chips and two cokes. Very friendly staff. Star dropped for simple reason that I've eaten better or equally nice pub grub for less in equally nice places.

a month agoEvening meal in a pleasant surrounding. Attentive staff, happy to amplify the menu choices. Portuguese curry was generous and flavoursome. Rump steak with samphire garnish extremely succulent and cooked to a ‘T’! Sticky toffee pudding definitely a cut above the rest! Hazel nuts made all the difference.

2 weeks agoA Disappointing lunch for 4 yesterday . The 2 men had burgers described as dry and average at best and the 2 females both had scampi which was perhaps more on par with a home 'cook from frozen meal' . I requested more tartare (despite being heavy on the capers ) to try and add some taste and texture but I am afraid the quality just wasnt there . The accompanying fries for all meals did not relate to the menu description and the entire meal for each if us fell short of the gastro pub expectation - I have eaten here before and never had such a mediocre meal . I grant it was busy, but it was a disappointment. Our waitress was charming but clearly rushed off her feet hence our decision to not raise our comments at the time , but we would all hesitate in returning .

a month agoI organised a funeral wake at the Dabbling Duck and they were beyond brilliant - sympathetic, efficient, flexible and reasonably priced. Amy the Events Manager went out of her way to accommodate the special touches we wanted, nothing was too much trouble. Everything ran very smoothly on the day - the hire space itself was gorgeous, several guests complimented the food, and we were able to play our own music and use the projector and microphone (I’d tried a couple of other potential venues closer to King’s Lynn before we decided that the Dabbling Duck could be a suitable location and they were unable to accommodate any/all of these requests). The Dabbling Duck made everything as easy as possible, which was very much appreciated given that it was a difficult day.
