a month agoThe review is about the restaurant, not the hotel. Absolutely beautiful mouth-watering tender roast beef and very good quality food overall. The veg was a bit hard though. Service was quick but the staff weren't very engaging, most of them looked a bit miserable. However, I would definitely revisit for Sunday lunch. The pub is located within Blickling estate, which provides a good place to walk it all off too.

a month agoBest Sunday roast I have ever had, apart from of course my wife's. Staff are very welcoming and attentive. We came last year and came back this year with the family...we will be back next year!! If you are in the area this a great child and dog friendly pub right next to Blickling Hall.

a month agoBooked lunch for two. Arrived to a pleasant welcome, sat outside as it was a lovely day. Ordered two fish mornay's. This dish was absolutely stunningly gorgeous. Tasty, beautifully cooked and presented. Staff were attentive and brilliant. Well worth the price. Second visit and we'll be back. Well done everyone.

a month agoVery disappointing lunch. Having eaten fairly regularly at the other restaurants in the group, we had high expectations. Pleasant enough staff, but the food was a huge disappointment. Camembert was a strange texture, rather like porridge instead of smooth and runny. On checking the box, it was out of date! My wife had a pasta dish which was “swimming” in a watery sauce. The second attempt was marginally better as the pasta sauce was thicker, but my wife only ate half of it as she said it was bland. My second Camembert was 4 days in date, but it was still more like porridge than a nice runny creamy cheese as it has been every where else in the world where we have eaten it, including France where my father lives. When he saw that I was not eating my food, The manager informed us that “their food is the best in the group” and said he would take my Camembert off the bill. We would dispute that, as I think the other restaurants would. We paid the outstanding bill and was told by the manager that “if we come back, they will make sure they look after us”. To late, you should have done that while we were there!
