5 months agoThoroughly recommend. Shared the starter between three and had mains - no one managed to finish! All food excellent. Lovely cosy pub, welcoming to dogs and attentive staff.

3 months agoOne of the best meals we’ve had in the UK. We loved the food (the stuffed pumpkin was incredible), there was one lady serving food & drinks and she was really lovely & prompt. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience here and hope to come back again!!

2 weeks agoSunday roast was awesome (we had the vegetarian option) and great value. Loads of veg and roast potatoes and great yorkshires and gravy. No protein at all - some pulses or cheese in the wellington would have helped - but a tasty and very enjoyable meal. (The cauliflower cheese side dish on the menu was not available.) The young staff team managed the rooms brilliantly in a very busy service. However we went back during the week and we weren’t as impressed. The vegetarian choice was very limited as were the desserts. And the food was not such good value. Once we’d added some sides - like a salad each and some garlic bread - which were necessary to make up a meal, the bill was significantly higher than it had been the Sunday before. Something that would have made a difference was to have known about the specials. We weren’t told about these options and I only saw the specials board after we’d paid the bill. We probably would have chosen, at least the dessert, from the specials board had we known. Verdict from our group of four was Sunday was great. But we wish we hadn’t returned on a week night.

a week agoPopped in on the off-chance for a meal - glad to find a pub open on a Monday evening when many have a day off. Friendly, efficient service with a smile, good, fresh, healthy food of the right quantity. Prices perhaps a little on the high side for a country pub, but - hey, you get what you pay for! Attractive, contemporary decor. Sat in the pleasant, spacious garden, just the right amount of attentiveness from staff. Very enjoyable experience altogether.

a week agoBeautiful pub, lovely food, happy to have our dog in tow. The food was amazing, service the same. I gave up eating out because I can cook better at home, not in this case, the food was delicious and reasonably priced, I do not mind paying more for a great meal, and our meal was lovely. Thank you The Boars
