a month agoLovely gem of a restaurant. We stopped at The Boars by chance while looking for somewhere to eat. We arrived late on Saturday afternoon so there was barely anyone. The food we ordered was very nicely presented and tasted delicious. I would highly recommend it.

2 weeks agoI came here with a few friends and family. We had a few starters. A Camembert bread starter and crispy calamari. The Camembert was delicious! The crispy calamari was thick bits which weren’t very tender. For mains I got their beef burger. Personally the triple chips were very thick too. The inside was very hot and not very enjoyable. The burger was nice it had an unusual taste but the beef its self was very tender. I personally found the food average. But overall the interior and the service was fantastic!

5 months agoLovely last minute find for dinner after a long drive! One of the best chicken burgers I’ve ever had. Great food all round! Service was friendly, even though the food did take quite a while to come out, but worth the wait.

2 months agoSunday lunch was mega. Lots of great veg, the roast potatoes where done perfect, and the pork and beef come well commended, in fact we would say premium. A lovely spot, we have been lucky to get some of the early spring sun which suits the garden if you are in it or if you are looking at it from within. Go again? Yes, oh yes please.

3 months agoService was very good. We ordered paté and camembert to start, both were excellent. Followed by a beef burger (great burger), veggie burger (advertised as a bean burger but was not of a meat substitute but they said they made it in house using spicy beans etc...) pork loin (a bit bland) and lamb chops (very good dish). The mayonnaise was made in house which was a nice treat. The dessert were very good, tiramisu and crème brulée and dessert of the day which was a pana cotta. The service was very good and could not be faulted.
