a month agoVisited one Friday evening, found the restaurant to be very quiet, there was only one other party seated. The menu is varied, and plenty of drinks on offer. The food was excellent, steak cooked perfectly and the cheese sauce was rich and flavoursome. I was slightly surprised by the bill at the end of the meal, I found it to be on the steep side and because of this, unfortunately I probably won't return.

a month agoWe was looking for somewhere to get a nice steak and this pub certainly delivered. The pub and a very nice warm and welcoming atmosphere, the food was very well cooked and well presented and our server was very attentive. My wife and I were extremely happy with all aspects of our evening out.

3 weeks agoFood was excellent, substantial menu for dinner and breakfast was definitely a very full English. Unfortunately the downside of the stay was the room. Although obviously been refurbished there were a number of points to raise. A 10.5 tog feather and down duvet on the bed in June was a tad excessive, not being helped that the sash window wouldn't stay open meaning an uncomfortable night, no hanging space for clothes, no mirror in the bedroom except a small one in the bathroom. These may seem minor issues but they did impact on what was an enjoyable weekend

a week agoWe stayed for 2 nights. The room was nicely decorated, comfortable and clean. Lovely en-suite bathroom with large bath and shower. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

a month agoFirst time eating here after hearing mixed reviews and mainly about the price! To be honest the price of the steak had put me off but after having the beef wellington and tasting the quality of the fillet I cannot complain about the price myself, you pay for what you get and out table of 4 was all impressed. Only criticism is that it was a little saltier than I would have liked but I smashed it and so did the other diners with me. We will all return thank you
