The Kings Head is a family run gastropub and luxury B&B in Norwich. Owners for more than thirty five years, Anton Wimmer and his family pride themselves in their reputation which has stood the test of time as they have adapted to this ever-changing industry.
One of the original pioneers of gastropub dining in Norfolk, The Kings Head Bawburgh has its menu and philosophy firmly rooted in local markets. From a close relationship between well-established local produce suppliers is born an a la carte menu and daily changing 48.5 mile menu packed with proper pub classics with imaginative, local twists.
Both the bar and our outside areas are dog friendly, and we recommend booking to ensure that a suitable table can be reserved, please mention you’ll be bringing a dog when booking.

Mondays: Closed
Tuesday to Saturday: 12-2 & 5:30-9
Sunday 12-6:45
We are open for drinks in-between food service times too.
As per all listings on Dog Friendly Norfolk, we accept well behaved dogs.

2 weeks agoWe are outside and the gardens were very pleasant. The tables had a slatted aluminium structure which allowed partial shade and also had meat stress so if it should become cold later in the year it would be kept warm. The good really was very impressive. My fish of the day was have such was absolutely gorgeous. The staff were all very helpful and attentive.

From the moment we walked in, we were enveloped in a warm and personal atmosphere that set the tone for a memorable weekend. The staff were exemplary, consistently going above and beyond to ensure our experience was nothing short of fantastic. Their attention to detail and genuine hospitality made us all feel truly special. The food was exceptional, beautifully presented, and delicious, showcasing a wonderful blend of local ingredients and culinary expertise. Anton and the team are doing a fantastic job and both the food and service and always on point. Great to see their continued support for local produce with their 48.5-mile menu. 3 weeks agoMy friend took me here for dinner when I was visiting him nearby. Lovely food - I had the duck and he the pie of the day, followed by beautiful desserts. Lovely service and excellent food.

3 months agoLove the coffee here so thought we'd pop in for a quick bite to eat as we were in the area. We ordered two flat whites and two fishfinger sandwiches and a bowl of chips. We were not expecting the absolute behemoth that appeared in front of us - see pics - no Cap'n Birds Eye here 😂 Service was quick and staff super friendly. Can 100% recommend!
