a week agoStopped in for a drink with a colleague when in the area. Love this pub, friendly staff, sensible prices and a great atmosphere. What else to say, we didn't eat so cannot comment, if you have a dog they will be welcome and offered a bowl of water. Highly recommended :-)

a month agoAs a dog owner staying locally was very convenient and after a full day's walking a welcome visit. Had dinner here twice and food was acceptable. Portions are very generous but thought a little pricey. Clearly all pre prepped. Lovely main bar area which was very welcoming and had a lovely ambience. Lacked a personal touch and although bar staff where friendly and this may seem a little old fashioned ... there was no sign of any "owner or landlord". Not sure the pub would be that popular without dog owners though 🤔

3 weeks agoStaying in the village for the weekend, pub was virtually next door. Walking in transported me back to what pubs were like years ago. Busy, warm friendly, comfortable. Luckily had pre-booked for our party of ten to eat. Service, beer and food were excellent. Would 100% recommend if in the area. Made our weekend complete. Well done

a week agoLovely looking pub. Food terrible. Childs pizza is a frozen Chicago deep dish. Chips tasted horrible. And chicken burger comes in a bacon bap from a burger van with a tiny dry bit of chicken In the middle. Would come again for drinks but not food.

in the last weekFood is ok but quite bland very overpriced. Most of us were disappointed except the kids (though the children’s menu pizza comes straight out of a packet) and my fish and chips was alright. The old bar is good but there’s a big soulless barn conversion where we were sat.
