4 months agoVisited here last Saturday lunchtime 11th October , party of 3.a very nice village pub with friendly efficient staff. Nice atmosphere with several locals at the bar.we elected to eat in the bar area and we're not disappointed We all had mains, all freshly cooked so had to wait a while which was not a problem. All of us enjoyed the meals, of Venison stew, chicken and leek pie and chicken supreme. The dopheniuse potatoes were excellent as were the homemade chips requested to substitute for the mash.. Whilst appreciating the venison stew and hearty vegetables it was a little salty for our guests taste, but enjoyed and finished. We hope the venue continues to thrive and that the locals will take advantage of the lovely meals and really attentive staff and great pub restaurant. We will return soon with other friends to sample the Sunday lunch.

3 months agoHave visited several times, most often on a Thursday night for their steak nights. Their steaks are cooked beautifully and portion sizes are generous. Service is spot on. Would highly recommend.

2 years agoIf you want a great village pub with a great village atmosphere then you dont need to look further than the Queens Head, was so friendly with great food and fab staff. The Sunday roast was well cooked and plenty of it. The roast potatoes were crispy as was the huge yorkshire pudding. The beef, chicken and pork belly were all equally tasty and not over cooked, the side of cauliflower cheese was heavenly. It was great to meet a chef who actively asked for feedback and was proud of his food! Great job Scot. Loved the popcorn cockles. A place not to be missed!
