5 months agoGlad to see this lovely old place back open. We had a great meal, partner said rib eye steak was cooked to perfection, the meat was clearly good quality and the cheese burger I had was really tasty. Was a bit on the quiet side but it was early in the evening. I wish them all the best with the new venture.

2 months agoWhat a beautiful pub with loads of character and the food is pretty good. Had the burgers, the chicken and beef patties were lovely and moist, tasted really good especially when complemented by the caramelised onions. The bread buns were on the thick and dry side, a simple application of some sauce may help. The chips are epically lush, golden, crispy full of taste. Overall, this is great place and we will be coming back. Especially once dry January has passed.

2 months agoI went to The Lattice House after hearing great things about their Sunday carvery—rumour had it the roast was worth the trip. Sadly, the customer service turned out to be the only thing getting roasted. We walked in and were politely asked if we’d like to sit upstairs. So far, so good. But the moment we got up there, the young staff member who brought us up immediately turned to chat with her friend behind the bar, leaving us standing there like two confused extras who’d wandered onto the wrong set. I asked where we should sit and got a very enthusiastic “Anywhere,” delivered with the energy of someone who couldn’t believe I had the audacity to ask such a thing. My partner and I sat down—alone in the entire upstairs area—while the two staff members continued their five-minute gossip session, completely ignoring us. At this point we weren’t sure if we should order at the bar, wait at the table, or perhaps send up a smoke signal. Eventually I gave up and approached the bar myself. When I asked how to order the carvery, the staff member replied, “Weren’t you told?” (Spoiler: we were absolutely not told.) Apparently you order at the bar, get a ticket, then go downstairs. A simple system… if someone actually explains it. We checked out the carvery downstairs—it looked decent!—so we decided to give it a chance. There was a queue, so we went back upstairs to order. But plot twist: the staff member had vanished entirely. Houdini would’ve been proud. After waiting around like abandoned houseplants, we finally decided to cut our losses and leave. In summary: lovely idea, roast looked nice, customer service needs life support. Real shame, as it was my first visit in years and I was excited for a good Sunday dinner. Instead, I got a comedy of errors… just without the comedy. Would not recommend.

5 months agoWe had our baby shower at The Lattice House and it was absolutely perfect! The room was lovely and just the right size for our group. The food was delicious and the staff were so friendly and helpful the whole time. They really went out of their way to make sure everything went smoothly, which made the day so relaxed and enjoyable. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue. Huge thank you to the team at The Lattice House for making our day so special! We’d definitely recommend The Lattice House for any celebration or gathering!💕
