We stayed overnight in a standard double room with breakfast. We managed to park the car at the back and also had dinner at the hotel. Everything was perfect for us. Quality of accommodation, service, food and location. Room was cosy and very clean. Attractive pictures, lighting and great little coffee machine. Good bathroom products too. A few years ago we stayed at the Harnser up the road and paid more for a lot less. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent. Good vegetarian options for my partner. The local area is beautiful and fortunately we had good weather at the end of March 2025. All staff we dealt with were 5 star and very attentive. Would definitely stay again even though we live only 40 minutes away.

We stayed for a couple of nights in a room on the 2nd floor. The room was nicely decorated with a great view over the fields behind the pub, and a small entrance way. The bathroom only had a bath - the shower is attached to the bath but you can’t stand up due to the sloping ceilings, but for a short stay, it was totally fine. Bed was very soft, good quality bed linen, and very firm pillows. Breakfast was delicious every morning, and we also enjoyed the veggie roast dinner. Service is friendly and for food, pretty quick and efficient. Would stay again but might try a room with a shower. One thing to note, is that there isn’t reserved parking for guests, so it’s just down to luck if you can park there or if you have to try the village car park nearby.

Do not visit this pub if you have any dietary requirements at all . I called ahead and asked so it dairy free and vegan options - I was told yes we can do that no problem . When we arrived the waitress was lovely but had no idea what food contained dairy and what did not . Then manager then bought me out a vegan burger with cheddar cheese . When I asked ‘is this dairy free cheese ‘ he said ‘yes ‘ when I then said I was allergic he said ‘I will go back and check ‘ . He then said it was in fact a dairy cheese . The same happens with my chickens pasta , he argued with me about the cheese used and raised his eyebrows . I lost all faith in the food and was really concerned about cross contamination if this is their attitude . I will never return or recommend this to anyone . The manager we spoke to was called Joe . We visited the Wiverton Bell and Three swallows who were proper restaurants with knowledgable staff who were not rude .

I’ve come up on my own to get a break from London and was just greeted with the warmest atmosphere. The staff are so friendly, you make friends with people at the bar and the food is next level! I was a bit nervous about being on my own but that soon went away once I landed here!

Popped into the George & Dragon for an evening meal last night (Friday Evening) and had a very pleasant experience. We were warmly greeted upon entering and it was very comfortable with the log burner burning bright, both meals were delicious and served on proper plates not pieces of wood or slate... The staff were friendly and extremely polite, thoroughly recommend this establishment.
