Al Dente Pasta Bar & Kitchen – Norwich

Great service, pleasant ambiance, tasty food. Five of us had a drink, main course and dessert at a cost of about £22 a head. Service was efficient and friendly. Each dish had great flavours. The restaurant has a nice relaxed atmosphere.

04.10.2022 My first time here. Popped in later afternoon for a coffee with a friend. Had the restaurant to ourselves. Staff were very friendly and chatty. Still working (cleaning, making pasta, admin) although it was empty. Would return for a meal. They are online and available for collection.

We had a beautiful meal here on Valentines day. The restaurant was bustling and the servers never missed a beat. The food was delicious and such generous portions

Unfortunately I had to come back and edit my review, I originally gave 5 stars after my first visit five months ago, everything was great.. the food and staffs. I thought was one of the best Italian I had ever..(first photo of our first visit: pasta with ragu sauce, mushroom and barrata.)However my second visit was a month ago, it was disappointing, I ordered the same dish but it wasn’t the same, the sauce was runny and was not as good as I remember, some extra cherry tomato garnish there too as if they were trying to make up with it. I thought maybe the chef was off they had different staffs etc. Then today we were in town and we thought lets give it a try again and disappointingly the food was VERY Inconsistent! We ordered the same dish and the mushroom this time is different(second photo) and the meatballs were tough and dry. They do not live up to the price they are asking for.(with that price for four meatballs you would expect some good quality). Also the staffs wasn’t attentive until I asked for extra chilli flake. Then I noticed every other table have their grated cheese and stuffs excepted ours as if it was missed from the beginning.. I would say if you had a great experience and food for the first time, congratulations, but finger cross if you decide to go back because it may not be the same, that’s how inconsistent they are and I don’t expect that from any restaurant..especially italian..

I really enjoyed my meal every time I went there,from the amazing cocktails, great pasta, delicious sauces and you must try the mouth-watering cannoli :)
